Sudan borders and airspace have been shut until further notice, Defence Minister Awad Ibnouf announced on state television today. This comes after Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was removed from power and detained by the army. “I announce as minister of defence the toppling of the regime and detaining its chief in a secure place,” Ibnouf said.
