Lagos socialite, RIlwan Alesh loses his hotel in Ajah to AMCONÂ over unpaid N187 million debt
Popular Lagos socialite, RIlwan Aleshinloye has lost one of his most prized possessions, Alesh Hotels over unpaid debts. A federal high court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the interim forfeiture of the property to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). With this judgement, Alesh Hotels located at 1 Alesh Hotel Road, Ajah temporarily ceases to be the property of Rilwan Aleshinloye pending a final judgement on the matter. The court also ordered Rilwan and his agents and representatives to steer clear of the property pending the final determination of the suit. AMCON had dragged him to court over an unpaid debt of N187 million being the alleged balance of a loan issued in favour of RIlwan and Alesh Hotels by the defunct Bank PhB in 2008. According to the statement of claim filed on behalf of AMCON, Chief Rilwan Aleshinloye had in his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of Alesh International Hotel signed a N100 million loan facility granted by Bank PhB. The loan was allegedly secured by legal mortgage of Alesh International Hotel. AMCON claimed that they had tried several methods to recover the money from the prominent socialite but without avail. The letters of demand forwarded to him were allegedly ignored. This left them no choice but to recourse to the court of law. The presiding judge has fixed September 24, 2018 for the next hearing. The post Lagos socialite, RIlwan Alesh loses his hotel in Ajah to AMCONover unpaid N187 million debt appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
