Adekunle Ajasin University student narrates how her department heads justified her re-sitting a course she passed participated in a beauty pageantA student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo state has narrated how she is currently being forced to re-sit a course she passed.  @_faves who disclosed that the online result and her lecturer’s records showed that she passed the course, alleged that her “omnibus” is saying that she failed the course and no one wants to take responsibility for it.  Asides revealing that the error was brought to her notice when it was time to collate her results for NYSC, the Twitter user also disclosed that her department justified the act by saying she deserves to re-sit the exam because her participating in a beauty pageant in her 200 level showed she’s unserious.  Read her tweets below;  Today, I’ve decided to go and re-sit for a course that I passed, but somehow, the school says I failed. My online result shows that I passed it and my lecturer’s records show that I passed it, but my omnibus is saying that I got F. Nobody wants to take the fall for this error, rather, they’ll see me pay 80,000 again as school fees, just to write one course. One course that can be waived. But because I don’t know anyone and I live in a country where students cannot fight a school system, I’m going to re-sit “Introduction to Syntax.”A course that I passed since 200 level and they only brought the error to my notice when it was time for them to collate my results for NYSC. I planned to finish school and go for my Masters, by the time I’m 22, I’m resiting 1 course at 23 and can only go for NYSC at 24…..All this country does is shatter people’s dreams. My dept is saying that because I was a model in 200L, something that I did, so that I could win Miss AAUA and get free hostel, so that my mom would not have to pay for house outside school because my dad had just died and there was no money. They said because of that, I deserve to re-sit an exam that I passed because it shows that I was unserious. I’ll register for the course again. Sometime next year, what I feel in this thread will be in the past. The post AAUA student narrates how her department justified her re-sitting a course she passed by saying she’s unserious because she participated in a beauty pageant appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
